Ortega graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Development Economics & Political Science and subsequently obtained his Master’s Degree in Economic Policy & Planning from the University of Toronto.
As a Development Analyst, Ortega is responsible for providing financial underwriting on existing and future development pipeline, analysing market data and evaluating the economics of lease deals, phasing strategies and anchor agreements. His role assists in overseeing value creation strategies on a property-by-property basis for the multi-family residential portfolio nationally in Canada. During his time in the Canadian construction industry, Ortega was also involved as a research analyst to develop affordable housing projects through exploring new approaches to housing design, development and financing, providing due diligence and financial support on projects. He has developed and managed relationships with various corporate and public partners. This experience provides him a broad perspective in assessing and mitigating risk, which has been integral in providing strategic real estate advice and direction for high-rise condominium, multi-family and commercial projects.
