Rita Iafrate
Law & Society
I believe that an education in Law and Society is important since law is a part of daily life and surrounds almost everything we do. The Law and Society program at York is about understanding law in legal documents and words but also through the application, practices and relationships of law in society. It is important to familiarize yourself with the origin of laws as well as the different legal theories that impact behaviour today.
The Law and Society program focuses on important questions and perspectives from a wide variety of social contexts such as history, politics, economics, anthropology, and philosophy. Having an education in law provides people with tools and knowledge required to make an effective and constructive change to current issues. If you want to make a difference in the world the Law and Society program can allow you to do so!
