Shakiel Mendez
Work & Labour Studies
I pursued a degree in Work & Labour Studies because I was interested in learning about how I can improve the working conditions for all workers especially those who are most vulnerable. By doing so, I became more aware of my rights and responsibilities as a worker and made it my duty to educate the people around me. The Work & Labour Studies program offers a placement that helps to prepare you for the working world with practical life and work experiences. Importantly, the staff and faculty members play a key role in ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed in the program.
