Tanya Rocca is Senior Counsel at Bird Construction. Tanya earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts in History and Law & Society from York University and her JD from Queen's Law. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2010.

Tanya started her legal career in the advocacy group at Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP where her practice included a variety of commercial litigation matters. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and has drafted written submissions to the Supreme Court of Canada. After a decade with Gowlings, Tanya moved in-house and joined Ontario Power Generation’s corporate commercial group, which was a 180o flip from her prior experience as a litigator. In her role as Senior Counsel at OPG, Tanya supported procurement and contract negotiation for major hydroelectric and nuclear projects and several general corporate matters. She developed expertise in collaborative contracting and construction, which positioned her well for her next career move, joining Bird Construction in February of 2024.

Tanya lives in Toronto with her husband and two sons. She acts on her sons' school Parent Council and has volunteered as a Parent-to-Parent mentor through the Geneva Centre for Autism. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors of Autism Ontario as its secretary.
