The Ethics in Indigenous Research Workshop will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto, Spadina Ave (note change of venue) from 8:30am – 5:30pm. Registration is now closed.
We welcome Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars, faculty, senior undergraduate, and graduate students to engage in a day of meaningful conversations about the responsibilities of conducting ethical research with Indigenous communities, including forms this research might take within the context of a changing sociopolitical landscape.
We take as a fundamental premise that the incorporation of indigenous knowledges and values at every stage of the research process has greatly transformed the ways in which ethical research is being re-defined, re-articulated, regulated, and operationalized within academia. We invite you to a space where we can come together to engage each other with thought-provoking ethics issues in diverse areas of Indigenous research.
This Workshop is funded by York University’s Provost’s Indigenizing the Academy Initiative.
