Lauren Nareau

Dr. Lauren Nareau is a Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at York University. She received her PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her research examines the historical and cultural ways humans form their relationships to invasive plants, and the political implications these changes have on local communities and nation-states. Dr. Nareau is co-director of the Plant Studies Collaboratory with Professor Natasha Myers and the Energy Working Group at York University. Her research interests include multispecies anthropology, critical plant studies, political ecology, colonialism, plantation studies, and the Caribbean.”
