Job Description:

About the Internship:
TDT offers dynamic Administrative and Production Internships throughout the year, providing invaluable hands-on experience within an arts nonprofit organization. These internships are typically short-term (1-3 months) and offers Experiential Learning Placement, Internship, or Co-op opportunities where the job responsibilities will be tied to academic credit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front of House Theatre: Assist in maintaining front-of-house operations during programming and presentations, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for artists, dancers and audiences.
  • Production Runner: Provide support by being an active runner during rehearsals, presentations and events in the theatre, including gathering materials, and assisting with set-up and teardown.
  • Technical Production Assistance: Aid the technical team with lighting, sound, and stage tasks, gaining practical knowledge of the technical aspects of dance production.
    Administrative Tasks: Support the administrative team with day-to-day operations, including data entry, filing, and other clerical duties.
  • Content Curation: Collaborate with the Communications Manager to create and curate engaging content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Project/Producing Tasks During Show Runs: Work directly with the Associate Producer on various project tasks, contributing to the successful execution of show runs and events.
  • Collaboration with Managers: Work closely with the Associate Producer, Production Manager and Communications Manager to support operations.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a program at York University requiring placement, internship, or co-op experience.
  • Strong interest in contemporary dance, performing arts, theatre arts.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative and adapt to the needs of a fast-paced production environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during show runs.
