DUKE Heights BIA is an organization representing businesses in the northernmost area of Toronto, nestled between Downsview Park and York University. Serving around 2,500 businesses in North York, the BIA collaborates with the City of Toronto’s Economic Development Department to offer valuable business development support to its members.
The core objectives of the organization lead to generating economic growth by-
• promoting the potential of the area to attract new investment and generate employment,
• providing support to businesses in the area,
• developing a vibrant business district suitable for new business development.

Job Description:

• Assist in expanding our communication reach through the BIA website and social media; contribution required, but not limited to, is content writing and execution of communication and     outreach campaigns
• Provide support in building awareness of the BIA services among the existing and potential members of the BIA business community
• Research and develop useful content in relation to economic and business development
• Utilize social media to reach target audiences and develop other web-based promotions
• Develop collaterals and other promotional copies
• Identify potential communication channels and effective methods of utilizing them
• Maintain databases of community and media contacts
• Help develop and strengthen relationships with members and key stakeholders
• Assist in organizing events and participate in partnered programs

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Active interest in content creation for social media and content marketing
• Ability to research and drawing insights and suggestions
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated business intelligence and interest in networking

Additional Assets:

• Content creation and writing skills
• Knowledge of graphic design production platforms(Adobe, Canva)
