Position Title: Communications Program Assistant
Working Site’s Location: Hybrid

Company Bio:

The Al & Malka Green Artists’ Health Centre is a clinic in the Department of Family and Community Medicine within University Health Network (UHN). The Centre is the only clinic of its kind in Canada that specializes in serving artists of all disciplines. The Centre is an integrative outpatient clinic offering uninsured healthcare services. The Centre’s team specializes in addressing the specific healthcare needs of artists through providing a holistic approach to health and conducting research to inform health services the Centre provides.

Job Description:

Position 1: online communications program assistant

  • work with supervisor to develop easy-to-navigate and website through a client-centred and machine-readable approach
  • review best practices for web-standards
  • review current and potential platforms for ease of updating
  • develop and version-test layout before presenting to AHC team for approval
  • under supervision, work with practitioners to update bios to highlight specific interests and skills relevant to AHC clientele
  • under supervision, develop outreach strategy to AHC clients for updated social-media strategy:
  • Videos (10-180s, 1/week) and images with caption (1/week) produced by curated artist-clients to highlight their practice and how the AHC has served them. Platform TBD

Position 2: fundraising communications program assistant

  • working with supervisor, develop outreach and fundraising strategy and program for existing and potential donors
  • identify existing donors
  • identify potential donors
  • develop outreach strategy for mail and electronic
  • support the planning and launch of a live arts-based fundraiser (April 2025), including an art sale and live performances
  • working with supervisor, identify and reach out to donor artists for visual art sale
  • working with supervisor, support the live music program by identifying and reaching out to live musical performers
  • coordinate communications with artists

Qualifications:

  • passion for the arts and artists (mandatory)
  • an interest in human-centred systems
  • an interest in accessible design standards
  • strong writing skills
  • able to comfortably communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
  • an ability to learn new software quickly
  • Adobe CC (especially InDesign, Photoshop) an asset but we will give you the opportunity to learn
  • HTML/CSS a plus
  • JS a plus
