Position Title: Communications Assistant to Director or Marketing Assistant to Manager
Working Site’s Location: Hybrid

Company Bio:

Yonge North York Business Improvement Area serves over 1,600 member businesses and commercial property owners in the area along Yonge between the 401 and Bishop Avenue. Our vision is to be the preferred destination in North Toronto for businesses, residents, visitors and workers to live, work and play. Assisting our members and delivering relevant support through marketing and events, public realm improvement and local economic development is a priority.

Job Description:

Placement One: Communications Assistant to Director

  • Integral support to the Director with various communications tasks and drafting of written and visually appealing materials.
  • Support the organization and implementation of a public realm consultation and the BIA’s Annual General Meeting.
  • Actively encourage collaborative engagement from local businesses and commercial property owners, and all stakeholders.
  • Provide support additional destination marketing, business attraction or support initiatives or public realm projects as needed.

Placement Two: Marketing Assistant to Manager

  • Integral support for a orchestrating a variety of community, business events and festivals.
  • Involves a range of responsibilities, from creating promotional materials, research, acting as an ambassador for the organization at events and supporting logistics to implementing media and marketing efforts.
  • Actively engages the public and works collaboratively with local businesses to promote participation.
  • Provide support for administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Technologically adept and able to learn new software
  • Excellent MS Office, primarily Excel and Word; Google Suite; and Zoom skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and persuasion
  • Able to work independently or in a team
  • Flexible and adaptable in order to contribute to different projects.
  • Able to be professional and interact positively with diverse stakeholders.
