The LA&PS Colleges provide many opportunities for students to become involved. Foremost among those opportunities are becoming a part of or participating in the numerous events and initiatives organized by our four College Councils: Founders College Student Council, McLaughlin College Council, New College Council and Vanier College Council.
Founders College Student Council
Representing the students at the Keele Campus’ first and oldest College, Founders College Student Council strives to create an environment whereby students affiliated with Founders will be able to thrive and reach their full potential. Whether it be advocating for students or networking with clubs, groups and alumni, what can be certain is that Founders College Student Council seeks to make each student’s life at York memorable.
New College Student Council
New College Council (“NCC”) is the student government for York University’s New College affiliated Students. We represent all students in the School of Administrative Studies, the School of Human Resource Management, the School of Information Technology, and Disaster & Emergency Management. We strive to serve the New College Community by providing social, academic, and athletic programs and services, while ensuring we represent the student body by maintaining a strong and open platform at York University.
McLaughlin College Student Council
The primary aim of the McLaughlin College Council is to promote the welfare and interests of the students affiliated with McLaughlin College, and to provide services, activities, publications and facilities which serve to enrich the lives and educational experience of the students. Everyone is encouraged to come out and participate at any and all levels of College life.
Vanier College Student Council
We are a diverse, rich community, where business-minded students and those in humanities and social studies live together, exchange ideas and share world views. Within the larger York campus, Vanier College is your hub for social activity and professional growth. We help make this big university feel like a small, welcoming neighborhood.
