Certificate in Sexuality Studies

The Sexuality Studies certificate offers interdisciplinary training in sexuality studies to York students, professionals, activists and community leaders. The certificate provides those who are interested in doing (or who currently do) sexuality studies work, activism and/or community outreach with theoretical and applied knowledge along with university credentials.

Certificate in Gender & Women's Studies

Designed for students with no previous exposure to women's studies, this certificate offers a survey into issues and themes in the field. The program invites you to explore the lives and experiences of women, historically and cross-culturally, and to critically examine the social, political and economic institutions shaping women's lives.

Doris Anderson Research Fellowship

The Doris Anderson Research Fellowship is offered each year to a Graduate Student in the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies presenting a feminist research paper in appropriate forums, either in Canada or abroad.

Doris Anderson Canadian Bursary

The Doris Anderson Canadian Bursary is offered each year to a full-time or part-time Graduate student in the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies who studies at York University but whose permanent address is outside of Ontario. The applicant must also demonstrate financial need.

George Hopton Award

The George Hopton Award was established by the former Atkinson Students’ Association (ASA) and friends, to honour Professor Hopton, retired Professor of Humanities at York University, ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, and former Master of Atkinson.
