Health and Equity

This course introduces current issues related to health and equity from a critical human rights perspective. It examines the interrelationship of health, disease, and socio-economic structures, and includes scholarly research about medical practices, health institutions in Canada and globally, and the social determinants of health. Students learn about the history of health and health care using major theoretical approaches.
Note: Approved SOSC General Education course for LA&PS. This course will not count for major credit in HREQ.
