Course description:
This course offers a thematic, historical, and social survey of literature from the Spanish-speaking world, studying narrative, poetry, drama, and essays from the medieval period to the present. The basic tools and techniques of literary analysis are emphasized and practised. It is taught in Spanish and required for all students who intend to major or minor in Spanish. AP SP 2200 is normally taken concurrently with AP SP 3000 Advanced Spanish Language and Grammar, or if you have already completed SP 3000, it can be taken afterwards, as well.
