Our Research

Our faculty members have recently published papers in the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics and many others.

The Department of Economics at York University is a large unit with over 45 full-time faculty members. The professors in our department have research and teaching expertise in all major economic fields including development economics, econometrics, economic history, economics of education, environmental economics, experimental and behavioural economics, financial economics, health economics, industrial organization, international trade, labour economics, micro- and macroeconomic theory, monetary economics, political economy and public economics.

The research activities of our faculty have received recent funding awarded from national granting agencies such as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI).
