Regi Khokher’s current research examines the interplay between contemporary Science Fiction from the United States and American electoral politics, in particular the connections between SF and the conservative movement post-1980, spearheaded by Ronald Reagan. Other areas of interest include American popular culture with a focus on comic books, film, and television since the 1960s. In terms of teaching experience, he has taught a variety of courses in the English Department since 2004, including Children’s Literature and American Literature. In 2009, Regi Khokher was awarded a University-Wide Teaching Award for his work in the departments of English and Humanities at York University. In addition, in 2012, he earned a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Toronto. He has also taught for a number of years at OCAD University and Seneca College.
