There are many opportunities to get involved and make impact on university decisions that matter to you. One way for faculty members to join the conversation is by serving on council, standing committees and as LA&PS representatives on Senate.
Please note that you cannot be nominated for more than two standing committees and you may not serve simultaneously as a voting member on more than one.
Positions on Council, Standing Committees & Senate
Full-time Faculty
All full-time and cross-appointed faculty are automatically part of Council. There are multiple opportunities for full-time faculty to get involved with standing committees and to serve as LA&PS representatives on Senate. Nominations for full-time faculty membership on standing committees and Senate are held in the Spring of each year.
Contract Faculty
30 contact faculty members are elected or acclaimed to serve on Faculty Council each year. Contract faculty members serve a one-year term on Council which runs from July 1 to June 30. There are also opportunities for contact faculty to serve on standing committees and as LA&PS representatives on Senate. Nominations for contract faculty positions are held in late summer of each year.
