Sociology of the Body
Examines a variety of sign systems which code the body’s behaviour (e.g. dressing, eating, dieting, fitness) as the vehicle for larger institutions (political, economic, religious) which require the body’s inscription and conscription. Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed 84 credits.
