One of the recent PhD graduates has received a prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship. Department of History congratulates Mathieu Lapointe, for his FQRSC (Le Fonds
québécois de la recherche sur la société et la culture), which he will hold at McGill University’s Department of Art History for two years. Under Professor Will Straw’s supervision, Dr. Lapointe will be studying Montreal’s “yellow press” and its ideologies from the 1940s to the 1960s. He defended his doctoral dissertation, “La Comité de Moralité Publique, l’Enquete Caron et les Campagnes de Moralité Publique à Montréal, 1940-1954,” in November 2010, under the supervision of Professor Roberto Perin.
Congratulations Dr. Lapointe! This brings the program’s running total up to six postdoctoral fellowships for our recent PhDs!
