The Department of History congratulates SSHRC postdoctoral fellow, Dr Stuart Henderson, most warmly on the recent publication of his first book, Making the Scene: Yorkville and Hip Toronto in the 1960s (University of Toronto Press, 384 pp.).
It was launched in great groovy style at the Gladstone Hotel last night, with several York historians (faculty and graduate students) present, at which Stuart was interviewed by music journalist Carl Wilson. Seehttp://www.tinars.ca/content/stuart-henderson-conversation-carl-wilson-making-scene

Stuart’s book has already garnered a positive review from Robert Fulford in yesterday’s National Post: see

Many congratulations, Stuart, and we’re all looking forward to your next book on the Rochdale College and hip separatism in the 1970s, the topic Stuart has been researching on his SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship.
