The Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) has shortlisted Boyd Cothran’s book Remembering the Modoc War: Redemptive Violence and the Making of American Innocence (UNC Press) http://uncpress.unc.edu/books/12563.html as a finalist for the Best 2014 First Book in Native American and Indigenous Studies Prize.
The prize recognizes the most influential first book published in 2014 in the interdisciplinary fields of Native American and Indigenous studies. The winner will be announce at the reception following the 2015 Presidential Plenary at the annual meeting of NAISA, June 4-6 in Washington, D.C.
