Congratulations to Jennifer Bonnell and Craig Heron

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our colleague Jennifer Bonnell has been shortlisted for a book award offered by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. This year’s finalists are:

Norman Hillmer, O.D. Skelton: A Portrait of Canadian Ambition (University of Toronto Press)
Michel Hogue, Metis and the Medicine Line: Creating a Border and Dividing a People (University of Regina Press)
Ian Mosby, Food Will Win the War: The Politics, Culture, and Science of Food on Canada’s Home Front (UBC Press)
Brian Young, Patrician Families and the Making of Quebec: The Taschereaus and McCords (McGill-Queen’s University Press)

Also Craig Heron’s book Lunch-Bucket Lives. Remaking the Workers’ City was one of the short-listed finalists for the Speaker’s Book Award- Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Although Craig did not win, he received a medal.
