Dr. Jim Clifford wins a two-year postdoctoral fellowship

The Department of History would like to congratulate Dr. Jim Clifford who has won a two-year postdoctoral fellowship on a Digging into Data Project called “Trading Consequences.” The project, a major research collaboration between York University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of St. Andrews, examines the environmental consequences of commodity trading during the nineteenth century. Dr. Jim Clifford defended his doctoral dissertation, entitled “A Wetland Suburb on the Edge of London: A SOcial and Environmental History of West Ham and the River Lea, 1856-1914”, on January 5, 2011. He was supervised by Professor Stephen Brooke.
