Boom and Bust: A History of Economic Crises
Approaching economic crises from an interdisciplinary perspective, this course explores the economic, social, and cultural history of episodes such as the Dutch tulipmania of the late 17th century, the South Sea Bubble of 1720, the ‘long’ crisis of 1873-1896, the Great Crash of 1929, sovereign debt crises from Latin America to the Eurozone, and the 2008 financial collapse.
