Dr. Daniel McNeil joins the Black Canadian Studies Certificate as a Visiting Scholar / Visiting Professor from September 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019. McNeil is an associate professor in Migration and Diaspora Studies at Carleton University. Before joining Carleton, he served as the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Professor of African and Black Diaspora Studies at DePaul University in Chicago and taught Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Hull and Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. He will teach one of the certificate’s core courses, AP/HUMA 3318 3.00 Black Popular Culture in winter 2019.
