EAST Degree Options & Checklists

The East Asian Studies Program offers a broad approach to studying the peoples and civilizations of East Asia. It is a rich and flexible program bringing together courses from the humanities, social sciences, languages, literatures and fine arts.

Most of the existing courses focus on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean societies past and present. New courses are being developed that address Vietnam and those parts of Southeast Asia which sustain close cultural ties with East Asia. You can create a rich and dynamic combination of courses within the program guidelines.

Keep up with your degree requirements with our handy checklists listed under each program option. Remember to choose the checklist based on the year you began your studies at York.

NOTE: These checklists do not provide official confirmation of your eligibility to graduate. To find out which courses you have already completed toward your degree, use the Degree Progress Report. For more help, contact your academic advisor.
