Bolo! Bolo!
Published in 2000, Bolo! Bolo! includes original poetry, prose fiction and narrative essays from over fifty "second-generation" South Asian Canadians and South Asian Americans. The collection's title, a Hindi colloquialism for "share your story," addressed the early paucity of diasporic literature available at the time by South Asian children and young people. Bolo! Bolo! focused first, on agentive tactics through which multiple cultural allegiances could be negotiated and, second, on how these negotiations necessitated confrontations with racist, misogynistic constructs of cultural inheritance. Co-editors at The Kitchen Table Collective were Zenia Wadwhani, Nisha Pahuja and Kalyani Vittala.
