The School of Information Technology is excited to welcome Prof. Ling Jiang as a new full-time faculty member of the School. Prof. Jiang’s area is in information systems, specializing in the study of user motivations and behaviors in online labor markets.
“We are very lucky to have been joined by Dr. Jiang”, said Sotirios Liaskos, Director of the School. “She combines a strong information systems orientation with a broad technical background, precisely reflecting the School’s distinctive character and uniqueness. I am thrilled at the research collaboration and curricular growth possibilities that open with her arrival.”
Professor Jiang received her PhD in Information Systems (IS) from the College of Business at City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests focus on user behaviors in online labor markets and user-generated content (UGC) platforms. Her research has appeared in leading IS journals including Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST) and Internet Research, as well as in top-tier communication journal New Media and Society (NMS). She also presented her research at IS conferences such as International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS).
Dr. Jiang will teach for the School such courses as “ITEC3505 – IT Project Management”, “ITEC 3506 – ITEC Project and Program Management” and “ITEC1620 – Object-based Programming”, while exploring with the School additional opportunities for growing its Information Systems offering.
