DARE Project: Innovations in Technoscience in Contexts of Scarcity: The Kakuma Refugee Camp
Program(s) of Study: International Development Studies
Project Supervisor: Denielle Elliott
As part of my DARE project, I conducted research and participated in interviews with clients from the Kakuma Refugee Camp for more detailed information and insights into their experiences. I learned that a refugee camp is like any part of the world where inside are greatly skilled, talented and enthusiastic individuals. When they are given attention and opportunities, they can contribute greatly to this world, utilizing their experiences.
The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) – Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
