DARE Project: Public Sector Ethics in Canada: Building an Academic Centre of Excellence to Address a Growing National Concern
Program(s) of Study: Law & Society and Human Rights & Equity Studies
Project Supervisor: Ian Stedman
I hope the findings of this project will result in the creation of academic literature and scholarship in the areas of Canadian public sector ethics that are underfunded, insufficiently researched and misunderstood. Moreover, I hope it will encourage the creation of stronger legislation to prevent corruption and unethical conduct by politicians and public servants. Finally, I hope this research will educate Canadians on public sector ethics and inspire them to learn more about the actions of their elected representatives and other public officials as well as the laws and rules that govern their conduct.
The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) – Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
