DARE Project: Fostering Consistent Collaboration with the Open Learning Center to Scaffold ESL Students' Academic Literacy Skills
Program(s) of Study: Speech and Language Sciences and Concurrent Education
Project Supervisor: Jacqueline Ng and Ibtissem Knouzi
As an aspiring Speech Language Pathologist who plans on working with English as a Second Language (ESL) learners in the future, having the chance to conduct research exploring ESL speakers and how to best aid their academic literacy skills has given me an abundance of knowledge that will assist me in my career. In addition, the soft skills I have developed and solidified through the program can be translated into my academic career and my many other future aspirations.
The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) - Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
