DARE Project: Italian-Canadian Archives Project
Program(s) of Study: Cognitive Science major & AMPD minor
Project Supervisor: Abril Liberatori

Knowing your roots is such an important part of your identity, and having records like this to look back on is invaluable.

Project Description:

The Italian Canadian Archives is venturing into digital archive work, and I had the honor of working on the front-end development of their first capsule collections. My role began with looking into what software best fit ICAP’s needs. Then, as we began to receive and upload donors' items to our Omeka site, I worked closely with our student archivist to plan for the organization of each collection. I helped put the donors’ stories into words, matched the collection items to their proper place in the exhibits, and customized the web design of each page of the site.

The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) – Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
