DARE Project: COVID-19 and Faculty/Staff Work Arrangements
Program(s) of Study: Philosophy
Project Supervisor: Kelly Pike

The skills I developed from this opportunity will allow me to have a more flexible toolkit when it comes to analyzing data and interpreting information. Furthermore, this was a great experience for me to get an introductory perspective on the employment and labour field.

Project Description:

In September 2020, a survey was sent out by YorkU to all faculty and staff regarding the impact of COVID-19 on their working arrangements. This data has since been analyzed and will be circulated to the York community late April. This project was run simultaneously at 7 other Canadian universities and approximately 7 Australia universities. Moving forward, the opportunities for collaborative research abound. The DARE student will have the opportunity to get involved with a follow-up qualitative component of the study, which will ultimately generate a variety of publications.

The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) – Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
