
LA&PS School of Information Technology Professor Jimmy Huang has been recognized for his work by being awarded fellowship at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The fellowship is the highest possible honour given by the Institute and is granted to individuals whose contributions in engineering, science and technology have demonstrated a significant impact on society. IEEE is a leading authority across numerous fields including computers, telecommunications, biomedical engineering and more.
Huang has made substantial contributions to the field in the areas of information retrieval, web search, natural language processing and conversation systems. This achievement raises the School of Information Technology’s public profile which is expected to attract more support and funding, as well as students to the program.
