Department of History professor Joan Judge co-edits new volume celebrating the work of Joshua Fogel

A new volume has been released celebrating the work of Joshua Fogel with Joan Judge as co-editor. In The Sinosphere and Beyond: Essays in Honor of Joshua Fogel (De Gruyter Oldenbourg, 2024), scholars have contributed essays building on the legacy of Joshua A. Fogel. Fogel is a specialist in cultural and intellectual relations between China and Japan who was a member of York's History Department for nearly 20 years and held a Canada Research Chair in East Asian History.

Joan Judge is a 2021 Guggenheim Fellow, a member of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Professor in the Department of History at York. She specializes in the cultural history of modern China, with a focus on knowledge cultures, print culture and women’s history at the turn of the twentieth century.
