
Pat Armstrong, a LA&PS Professor Emerita and Distinguished Research Professor of Sociology, has joined the newly formed federal advisory panel, the Sectoral Table on the Care Economy, to share be expertise in shaping Canada’s care infrastructure. Armstrong, who is an internationally recognized expert on health-care research and social policy, will work with the panel to understand and improve working conditions for unpaid and paid care providers.
Armstrong is a leading scholar and researcher in the fields of social policy, women’s work and health care. Her work has looked at a range of issues including privatization of health care and working conditions in nursing homes, among others.
