The 2017 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Teaching Assistant category has been presented to Vedrana Cetina. Vedrana is a PhD candidate in the Philosophy Department and has served as a teaching assistant in several Philosophy undergraduate courses. The Dean’s letter announcing the award reads, in part: “As noted in the report of the adjudication Sub-Committee, students expressed that you are passionate, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful. You take very complex theories and simplify them in a way to make it easier for students to grasp. Your overall level of passion provided your tutorials with a sense of clarity which in return motivated students to participate in class. Your file demonstrates innovation, leadership, and deep commitment to student learning and development. The University has benefitted from your expertise and is strengthened by your presence in the classroom.”
