Professor Alice MacLachlan has received the LA&PS Award for Distinction in Research in the Emerging Researcher category. This is a very much deserved honor for Alice and a source of pride for the whole department. The letter from the Dean announcing the award reads, in part: “The evidence in your file signifies the impact of your work within and beyond academic communities, as well as demonstrates your commitment to engaging undergraduate and graduate students in your research. Finally, I would like to note that the Sub-Committee was particularly impressed by the exceptionally high caliber of your submission and felt that your research and activism exemplifies an admirable and important tradition at York.”
