The project is an academic and community collaboration directed at developing and testing methods of inclusive public engagement to be used in a subsequent, larger project of public consultation organized around the 50th anniversary of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women in 2020. The project consists of five pilot projects testing different approaches to public engagement. The partners in the project are the Centre for Feminist Research at York University, the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, and the Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action.

Dr. Cameron, of the Department of Political Science at York University, is the Principal Investigator. She leads a team of eighteen academic and community-based researchers, with a significant York political science presence.  Professor Ann Porter is co-investigator; others involved in the project include PhD graduates Christina Gabriel, Tammy Findlay and Alana Cattapan. MA graduate, Nicki Simpson, worked on the Survey of Public Engagement for the project.
