René Highway: David Earle with Jonathan Osborn

Dance scholar and choreographer Jonathan Osborn interviews David Earle about his memories of Cree dancer and choreographer, René Highway. Osborn examined items in the René Highway Collection, held in the University of Guelph, Special Collections, and shared images of some of the ephemera held in that archive as a basis for a conversation with acclaimed Canadian choreographer, dancer, and educator, David Earle who knew and worked with Highway. This is a conversation that occurred over Zoom on October 30, 2021 with the aim of illuminating dimensions of René’s character.

 

Le chercheur en danse et chorégraphe Jonathan Osborn a interviewé David Earle au sujet de ses souvenirs du danseur et chorégraphe cri, René Highway. Osborn a examiné des articles de la collection René Highway, conservée dans les collections spéciales de l’Université de Guelph. Il a partagé des images de certains des éphémères conservés dans cette archive comme base de conversation avec le chorégraphe, danseur et éducateur canadien acclamé, David Earle, qui connaissait et travaillait avec Highway. Cette conversation a eu lieu sur Zoom le 30 octobre 2021 dans le but d’éclairer les dimensions du caractère de René.
