Dr. Fritz Pino (she/her) is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is a first-generation trans Filipina, completed a graduate degree in psychology in Cebu, Philippines, where she was born and raised. She earned her Masters of Social Work and PhD in Social Justice Education at the University of Toronto. Informed by critical intersectionality approaches, particularly from a queer diasporic and trans lens, her research examines how queer and trans subjects, especially those who are racialized, migrants, and older adults, are impacted by transnational migration and nation-state’s normative discourses.
