Fatemeh Gharibi

Fatemeh Gharibi  is an "uninvited guest" on Tkaronto, the territory care taken by the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Huron-Wendat. Fati is a sexuality educator, performance artist, and a Ph.D. candidate in Gender, Feminist, and Women's Studies at York University. Their interdisciplinary work bridges International Education, Sexuality Studies, and Theatre. In their Ph.D. dissertation, they explore the pleasures and challenges experienced by international 2SLGBTQ+ students navigating intersections of gender, sexuality, race, and temporary status in Canada-occupied land. Throughout their studies and activism, whether in Iran or Canada, they have focused on amplifying the voices of women, queer, and trans-identified persons through participatory theatre and performance.
