Margaret Robinson, PhD, is a two-spirit scholar from the Eskikewa’kik district of Mi’kma’ki, and a member of Lennox Island First Nation. Raised in poverty, Margaret has a strong interest in how impoverishments of all kinds impact Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ people. Her research includes a study of anti-queer hiring discrimination in Canada’s blue-collar industry and an analysis of how poverty and sexuality interact in the lives of Indigenous women living with HIV. Margaret works as an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University where she holds the Canada Research Chair in Reconciliation, Gender, and Identity.
