Milan Kang (she/her) graduated summa cum laude from Gender and Women’s Studies at York University in 2021 and started her MA in Sociology the following year. Milan believes truth is behind what appears and tries to read between the lines. Before coming to Canada, she had worked in TV and film productions for over a decade in Seoul, South Korea. While adjusting to the new environment in Toronto, she actively engaged in queer Korean organizing, non-profits supporting marginalized groups, student unions and labour rights movements. After working with diverse people from Korea to Canada, she researches Korean feminist and queer activism in establishing Anti-Discrimination Laws in South Korea.
