Dr. Hu is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics, Philosophy, and Political Science at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. His research spans the fields of Health Economics, Labour Economics and Applied Econometrics. He is specifically interested to explore the income and health inequality issues of vulnerable populations in Canada and investigate the effectiveness of social and public policies. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 2019 from Dalhousie University and has held a postdoctoral research fellow position in Health Economics. He is also an adjunct professor at the School of Health Administration, Dalhousie University.
