BCom students welcomed into new IBM learning space

York U and IBM Ribbon CuttingAs part of a new venture with IBM Canada, the School of Administrative Studies (SAS) is pleased to welcome students to a new learning space at the IBM Canada headquarters in Markham, Ontario. This new opportunity joins a long list of flexible and accessible options for students to fulfill their degree requirements.

While the course offerings at IBM Canada are identical in credit, material and grading as the Keele Campus equivalent, they will also have the added benefit of being located within a high-profile and dynamic environment where students can learn among academic researchers, small and large businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups and developers. Former director of the school, Professor Adriano Solis, recognized the student benefit of being at IBM from the very start.

“When we first explored the idea in Fall 2018, I saw the possibility of conducting some of SAS’ courses at the IBM Canada headquarters in Markham as being beneficial for students, professors, IBM Canada, and other stakeholders. Now launching just one year later, I am truly pleased and excited that these program options are a reality,” said Solis.
