Malcolm was a General Manager at Microsoft Canada, during its start-up years and retired from corporate life in 2006. In 2012, he founded the Spark Angels, a private equity group, which has made 73 investments in early stage, innovative companies of which two have gone public. He has taught entrepreneurship, finance, accounting, statistics and management courses at York, Ontario Tech and Trent. His teaching objective is to integrate 25 years of private-sector tech, finance and entrepreneurship experience in an interactive, fun and enriching learning environment. His learning goal is to provide students with insights on the ‘how to’ as well the ‘what and why’ and that enabling students to leave university with a few key takeaways in any given course will serve them best throughout their professional careers.
