Michael Ben
Michael Ben is currently an instructor and Course Director at the School of Administrative Studies, York University, where he teaches Managing and Implementing Strategic Information Systems. Michael’s teaching methods involves active learning, experiential learning, co-constructing knowledge, and relating the lesson to "real life." He relates concepts discussed in class to current events promoting critical thought, issue identification, and inspire students to seek solutions to current problems. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Master of Urban Innovation program, delivering professional development courses. He has decades of experience in the Information and Technology field with demonstrated success leading digital transformation, change initiatives, and systems integration. He is a Senior Information and Technology management professional at the City of Toronto. He was appointed to the Brampton Public Library Board in 2015, appointed as the Vice Chair in 2019 and appointed as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Brampton Public Library in 2022, where he led the library through a period of growth and challenge, leading the development of the Library’s Strategic Plan and the Facilities Master Plan.
