Taslima Nasreen
Taslima has been a contract faculty at the School of Administrative Studies since 2013. She holds a Master’s in Financial Accountability (MFAc) from York University. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. (concentrated in Accounting) at the University of Guelph.
Taslima’s teaching philosophy is driven by student-centred learning. She demonstrates and cultivates strong critical thinking skills and enthusiasm by exhibiting a sincere interest in students’ development, understanding their goals, unique situation, and capabilities, and holding high academic standards. She teaches both financial and managerial accounting at different levels - introductory, intermediate and advanced - to major and non-major accounting students. Taslima is a patient, dedicated, demanding and fair instructor, which is reflected in the students’ evaluation over several terms.In addition to students’ recognition, she was recently recognized by York University’s Faculty and Staff Recognition Committee for her exemplary contribution to students with special accommodation.
