Tom Chatzidimos
Tom incorporates what he refers to as “the three Ds” into his teaching approach, being: Direct (demonstrate what to do); Discuss: (ask questions); and, Delegate (empower students to take initiative). He typically structure his classes to incorporate some amount of each of the aforementioned teaching styles, depending upon where the class is in the semester. Tom considers this a balanced educational approach and it has been well received by his students over the years.
After graduating from the York University’s Schulich School of Business, Tom spent the first few years of his career in the Audit/Assurance branch at Ernst & Young focusing on its Technology, Communications & Entertainment clients. Shortly after becoming a CPA, CA, he moved on to the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario (OAGO) where his initial focus was Value-For-Money audits, primarily in reference to the Ministry of Health. Five years into his tenure at the OAGO, he moved into attest audit branch of the public sector and this has remained his focus to present day.
